An environmental manager by heart, Urs feels at home in many sectors and industries. Involved in environmental protection, sustainable development and international cooperation and having managed a diversity of projects for more than twenty years, he has worked in different countries and at a multitude of levels within the private sectors, NGOs, research centres and public organizations. Among others, Urs expertise encompasses the coordination and implementation of certification processes (food labels, food safety and process standards, environmental and social standards), climate and sustainability reporting, and value chain development. Disposing of a broad spectrum of tools and approaches, he has significant experience initiating and guiding participatory processes. Urs has a profound knowledge of Asian culture where he has worked and lived for several years, leading local teams, and implementing various programmes and projects focused on value chain development and natural resources management within the agriculture sector. Urs holds a MSc in Environmental Management from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London) and a BSc in Environmental Engineering with a specialisation in Nature Management UAS Zurich.
